Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
The Glazing Doctor (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
The Glazing Doctor is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Our head office is at 4th Floor, Silverstream House, 45 Fitzroy Street, Fitzrovia, London W1T 6EB. You can contact us about anything in this policy by emailing info@theglazingdoctor.com or calling 0800 612 2528.
What information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us, which may include:
- your first name and surname;
- your telephone number and email address;
- your postcode and property address;
- the services you are interested in, and details about your windows, doors or conservatory (including photos you send us).
We collect this when you request a quote, phone or email us, or book an appointment.
How our quote form works
When you press Submit on our “Get a Quote” form, the details you entered are emailed to us so we can contact you. Your details are not stored in a database on this website. We use Resend, an email delivery service, to send these emails to us.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote.
- To arrange and carry out a survey or installation at your property.
- To provide aftercare and honour our guarantee.
- To keep the records we must keep for accounting and tax purposes.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to send you marketing unless you have asked us to.
Our legal basis
- Contract – when we use your details to quote for, or carry out, work you have asked for.
- Legal obligation – when we must keep records, such as invoices, by law.
- Legitimate interests – when we reply to general enquiries and keep job records so we can deal with guarantee claims.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where we need to, for example with our own fitters who carry out your work, with service providers who host our website and email (including Resend, which sends our quote form emails), and with our accountants. We will also share it if the law requires us to. Anyone we share your information with must keep it secure and use it only for the purpose we gave it to them.
Some of these providers, including Resend, may process your information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where this happens, it is protected by safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK–US data bridge or standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and website data
This website does not use cookies, and it does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically keeps short-term server logs (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google. You can read Google’s privacy policy for more information.
How long we keep it
If you ask for a quote but do not go ahead, we keep your details for up to 12 months in case you have further questions, then delete them. If we carry out work for you, we keep your job records for the length of your guarantee, plus up to 6 years for accounting and legal purposes.
Keeping it secure
We take sensible steps to protect your information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access, and we only allow access to people who need it to do their job.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information;
- ask us to transfer your information to someone else.
To use any of these rights, email info@theglazingdoctor.com. We will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
